Style: Simple Rings

Bling and perfectly matching set of earrings, necklace, bracelet and ring? Not really my kind of frosting. But there is something about the beautifully simple pieces.
Here are a few of my favourite simple rings...

 1. Catbird Hammered First Knuckle Ring | 2. Bario Neal Fishtail, rose gold | 3. Bario Neal Knottedrush, rose gold | 4. Indulgent Designs Infinity Knot | 5. Katrina Lapenne Braid | 6. Blanca Monrós Gómez (the best for last)

Beautiful, no? Any one of these pieces would make a lovely gift or even as a wedding band, though not very traditional ;)

TFW Style Snaps

Evening lovelies! Did anyone follow Toronto Fashion Week? I confess I didn't but I'm loving Fashion Magazine's street style snaps of mixed prints out on the town on the last day of shows.

What fun texture!
Love the shape and colour of these purses, especially the turquoise...
I don't think I'd wear this skirt but this photo catches the eye!
Floral and galaxy prints? Makes for a great picture!

Belated Blog Anniversary: Moi Je Joue

Long time no blog! It's my last week of classes for this semester and all the deadlines I've been dreading are here! I've been so busy that I didn't even realize I missed my blog anniversary on November 17th.When I started this blog two years ago, I never thought I would have even a small number of people interested in reading it. I wanted a space to play with my thoughts and to record all the fabulous things I found in my internet travels. That said, I'm extremely grateful to all those who take time to read and to subscribe! Just for fun (because moi, je joue) I'd like to share my initial inspiration:

I just loved this commercial: it's whimsy, it's fantasy, it's mood, and it's colours! This blog was a whim and a place to play with my travel, fashion, and design fantasies.
What can I say? Me, I play. Moi Je Joue.

Design*Sponge at Anthropologie, Vancouver

Well, as I expected, Grace Bonney's book signing event at Anthropologie was fabulous. Everything about the event was inspiring: the book, the author, the people in attendance (great outfits all around), the employees (so friendly and cheerful), the products and their displays! I couldn't resist taking a few snapshots. Enjoy!

I wasn't the only one with my camera out! And how I would have loved to bring that bolero home... and an initialled mug!Lots of fun outfits walking around the store. Glittery gold shoes, double panelled leggings, and my favourite look of the whole evening: The Girl with the Lace Skirt. (Click to zoom)
As this adorable young boy was reaching for cupcakes, I couldn't resist snapping his picture! Let me share the dialogue that happened just before he reached:

Boy: I want anothew cupcake
Mother: Well, you can have another one now but then no ice cream later. You choose.
Boy (short pause and with a thoughtful expression): Hmm... that's okay. I'll just have the cupcakes now instead of the ice cweam!

Yes. That table is made of rolled up magazines... I think! And there's a lot of great shoes in this shot...
I love this cutlery set! If I needed more cutlery, I would have bought these.

Travel Accessory: ONA Camera Bags

I would love to have a camera bag from ONA. It would be a stylish solution and the perfect travel accessory, especially if you want to be a discreet tourist (sometimes it's nice to blend in a little more). My favourite one so far is the Union Street model, designed to carry your camera, lenses and your laptop... The Brooklyn Satchel is also lovely...What do you think? Wouldn't you love to traipse around Europe taking photos and carrying your equipment in this bag?

Glee's New York Colours

Hello everyone! While organizing my new purchases (school supplies for theatre design!), I realized that the season 2 finale of Glee was playing in the background. I loved the costumes and the colours. And the tunes were pretty fun too. What do you think? It would be fun to see Manhattan like Glee! Touring Broadway, dining out, exploring the city with a group of close friends! By the way, if you are planning a trip to Manhattan and wish to see a Broadway show, you have a very good chance of getting a cheaper ticket by going straight to the theatre box office shortly before show time.

How I got my ticket to Catch Me If You Can:
20 mins to showtime, I went straight to the box office and asked if there were any tickets left. There were! Instead of paying $120, I got a centre orchestra seat for only $79! So close to showtime, I think they are happy to fill the seats.
Okay. I love Rachel's outfits but I don't know if I could ever pull off a striped coat like this one!
Breakfast at Tiffany's anyone?

Vintage Photos

It's funny how short he looked in this photo, when really he was quite tall!
Love these old shots of my maternal grandparents. So much style and so little effort. My grandpa used to love Tom Jones!

Summer Wedding: Carolina y Fabrizio

Happy Tuesday! It's been insanely busy (I seem to say that a lot lately) on my end. Basically, I work on the computer all day, commute home, dance classes, family (so many in town this summer), sleep.
Two weeks ago, I attended a small but very beautiful wedding. The bride made her own gown! Enjoy these photos and I promise I'll be back tomorrow!Such a beautiful bride!
Yes. She made that dress! And the whole wedding was planned in about two months!

Happy 25th Anniversary!

It seems as though everyone around me is either getting engaged, thinking about getting engaged, are engaged and getting married, planning their wedding, going to dress fittings or celebrating their anniversaries! Okay. I may be exaggerating a little but I've been to two different weddings so far, two friends have gotten engaged, another friend just celebrated their one year anniversary, and today is my parents 25th wedding anniversary!

Happy Anniversary to my mother and father! Cheers to the next 25!
There is a story to my grandfather's expression but I can't remember what it is!
Waiting and walking...
Ahh! The hand off. And at least the smile is back on my grand-pop's face!
You may kiss the bride!
I should really scan these instead of take a photo of a photo with my cell phone!
