My mom came home the other day with brand new Villeroy & Bosch dishes. As much as I tease her about buying another set of dishes (or adding to an old one in this case) I have to admit that these ones are really elegant. So I decided to check it out online for myself. And I found these the New Wave Acapulco line. They are not quite the traditional dish but they are so cute!

And now...off to work.
Carpe Diem! Seize the Day! or squeeze the day :P
One more thing that's bright and cheery and always helps push away the stress: Music.

There are so many beautiful places in Ireland I just had to put more than one option. Dunlavin, County Wicklow; County Carlow; Dingle, County Kerry... Ireland's Blue Book is a great place to start looking...

Napelonee: flaky pastry with egg custard. Yum!
This rolette is so amazing! Cake, cream, and pistachios on top! My favorite so far!
Thank you to Tea of Everyday Sugar for this Kreativ Blogger Award! You have made my weekend with this thoughtful gesture :D Now it is my turn to pay it forward to other wonderful blogs. But first, as according to the rules of this award, I'm going to share a few things with you...

And now I think I'm going to go all out and put in a pair of shoes that I certainly wouldn't mind owning as well! I love these nude pumps! The first one is a patent Jimmy Choo and the second is a glittery Christian Louboutin. Shoe envy! ;P
First yellow scarves and now white rooms (I'm a little partial to these colour themed posts)! Kerry Joyce is an L.A. based and award winning interior designer, interior architect, and furniture designer. A triple threat! His designs are classic and chic and elegant. I absolutely love the mirror armoire...

He designs in colour as well but I really love the simplicity of these rooms! Don't you? Maybe if my room was a little...well, emptier! It might have a shot at the simplicity thing!
I was browsing through the I Saw You section in the Georgia Straight and found this:I saw a:
I am a:
When: January 12, 2010 Where: Granville St. & 5th
you: brunette, very pretty, with big yellow scarf standing at red light underneath Granville bridge by 4th Avenue. Me: tall, wool coat with grey scarf. I walked up and stood at light beside you, we looked at each other, then I walked through the park to 5th Avenue, then looked at you again and caught you looking back. I wanted to talk to you but didn't, wish I did. I came back to see if you were still in the neighborhood but you were gone. Coffee?
Isn't this just the sweetest? Now I want a big yellow scarf. Thank goodness for Etsy browsing! Here are a few yellow scarves that I liked. Click on the picture to find out where to get them. This first one by Beautiful Bridget is my favorite...

Since I'm sitting in the study commons at my university, I thought maybe a more academic post would be fitting. Actually, it's not really very academic. Literature professors do love to throw them into the curriculum however: the classics. I like to pick one up myself without having to thoroughly analyze the story till it becomes just a bunch of words on the page that symbolize something else entirely! During my travels, I bought the book A Game of Hide and Seek by Elizabeth Taylor (not the actress!). This is isn't a classic but I loved the book cover: original and cloth-bound. The 'classic' discovery I made was at anthroplogie.com. These Penguin classics have abandoned the traditional dust jackets and have donned embossed canvas covers. Aren't they pretty?!
