Lemon Yellow Wedding

Congratulations to my dear friend Sam who just recently got engaged! I'm very happy and excited for her. On that note I've decided to feature a bright lemon yellow wedding. Aren't the photographs by Jose Villa simply lovely? I love the bride's dress, the colours, the arrangement, the lemons...Photos via Once Wed

Gift Guide for the Boys

I met my favourite hockey player today! He is a Swedish player that became one of the greatest Vancouver Canucks in team history and had his jersey number retired. The mayor of Vancouver even named Dec. 11, "Markus Naslund Day" and he was kind enough to chat and sign a jersey that I bought for my dad as a 50th birthday present. That got me thinking and I decided to brainstorm some good gift ideas (other than sports jerseys) for the boys in our lives: fathers, brothers, significant others... I hope these help!

Fashionable Horses

Happy Friday everyone! I looked around my room and realized how much I love horses: framed photos, pictures of me riding, a horse blanket, riding boots in the corner... And there's something about horses in fashion shots...Images from WeHeartIt.

Cowboy Boots

I had the sudden whim to browse photos on WeHeartIt today (instead of studying). I started looking at horses and English equestrian shots and then veered off to the West for some cowboy boots. They photograph quite nicely. Looking at pictures and watching a show about horses are really making me want to start horseback riding again...It's probably more common to see these boots with some blue jeans instead of pink and purple tulle...And these aren't exactly cowboy boots but I think I rather like this girl's outfit.
Time to get along back to the books and stop daydreaming about riding again :P

The Waltz

Well I feel spoiled! Last night I saw André Rieu in concert with my dad. He is an incredible violinist and with his orchestra, puts on a magical show! If I closed my eyes, it would have sounded like I was living in another era. But then I would have missed seeing the couples waltzing on the floor, the sparkling lights behind the stage, the pastels of the women in the orchestra, the reflection of the lights on the brass and violin bows, and the balloons that came down in the finale! I have to share a video of his finale medley...

Thanks to this concert I'm listening to this song now... and this song! Lucky for me, my mom had a Christmas dinner and couldn't go! But she gets to go to one of the biggest Canuck games ever: the day they retire Markus Nazlund's number... I think we're even!
And thank you Debi for your compliment on my ski photos :D

December Treats

Hello! I wanted to share pictures of my Friday of winter goodness in Vancouver. You should all come for a visit! The mountains are incredible and if you are a "foodie," this is the city for you! Before my aunt flew back to the tropics, we spent the day skiing.

Up, up the mountain we go!The sun's reflection is big and bright on English Bay. So high up the North Shore, we can see Downtown and Stanley park with the Pacific Ocean to the west...
Looking to the southeast...
The Rockies to the north...
Freshly groomed, powdery snow...
Then it was off to the German Christmas Market in Vancouver. I apologize for the bad quality photos: my camera battery died and I only had my cell phone!
The craving for sugar and chocolate kicks in after a full day of being on the slopes...
Baked apples with cinnamon, brown sugar, walnuts and vanilla sauce!
