Chocolat

Speaking of chocolate, have you ever watched the film Chocolat? I love that movie. And I love the set design, especially of the chocolaterie. It looks so rich and simply delicious. The set designer for this film was a genius!
I loved watching the transformation...She worked steadily away to move from the mess and disrepair...

Chocolate Wedding Favours

Hello lovelies! I'm about to pick the chick-flick of the evening but first: a tasty idea for a wedding favour (or party favour if there's no wedding in the near future, that you know of!). I blogged early on about my love for Vosges Haut-Chocolat. You can find the most interesting and exotic flavours! Well, according to a New York Magazine Shopping page, Mini Exotic Candy Bars by Vosges would make great wedding favours! Yummm!P.S. I found the boots pictured in the previous post! It was difficult to leave the store without them but I'm afraid my budget helped me win that little battle! That and limited amount of weight allowed for my suitcase :P

P.P.S. I had to eat some Malteasers after looking at all the pictures of chocolate!

Shoe Shopping

I really want to buy shoes. I want to purchase entire outfits! But unfortunately I do not have a money tree growing in my backyard. If only those existed! Maybe I could be a shoe designer? I love shoe illustrations and love wearing cool shoes. I think tomorrow I'll head back over to Zara for one more look at a pair I was eyeing earlier today. I say, if it's meant to be, I will find them again and in my size!

Blue Loafers

I saw the most awesome blue loafers today! I wish I could have taken a picture (but that would have been really obvious and weird :P ). They were something like these...Anyways, next time I will be more prepared to take photos of the people and the city. I was on the metro when I saw the gentleman and his blue loafers :) Here are some other ones I would love to see someone wearing!

The Lollipop Shoes

I remember seeing an antique book stand somewhere in Madrid last year. All I know is that I was walking with my cousin and it was near the royal palace... or Plaza Mayor. I thought I took a picture but that seems to have disappeared too! It would be nice to find it again...

Right now, however, the next book on my list to read is called The Lollipop Shoes by Joanne Harris. It is the sequel to Chocolat (one of my favourite movies). I can't wait to read about Vianne and her chocolaterie!
Oh! Happy 24th Anniversary to my parents!!

Madrid

¡Hola from Madrid! It's fabulous to be back here. Everything is closed on Sundays so I decided to stay home and solve the mystery of my uncle's wireless router. As you can see, I figured it out! I wasn't even looking for the Internet so much as simply wanting to solve the case! I'm excited to go shopping and walking around just taking photos despite the blistering heat here.Maybe I'll even see the portly neighbourhood Spiderman again!

Travelling

Hello! So much to do with so little time. I'm off to Spain tomorrow and I can hardly believe it! It was a very spur of the moment trip and it hasn't really sunk in yet. I have been running around dong errands, cleaning and sorting through my room, and cramming as much of my dance rehearsals in! The souls of my shoes are nearly coming off (and I think I've done some really damage to my right foot). First purchase? New flamenco shoes!
My main accessory for this trip: my camera. Depending on my Internet situation I'll try to put up some pretty pictures from my trip! Now to finish packing!
¡Hasta luego chicas!

Step Up 3D

Hello fabulous people! First: Check out this guest post over at BC Living blog, Style Lounge. It will inspire you to create a feature wall. I know it inspired me! But I have so many things that I would love to frame and hang and not enough wall space!
Second: I just watched Step Up 3D. Needless to say that I loved it. Dance flicks are completely my cup of tea. But this one featured so many different dance styles: hip hop (obviously), popping, locking, breaking, tango, contemporary, robot, tutting, capoeira, and even parkour! There is so much talent it blows my mind and makes me green with envy! :P

It's easily the best of the three films, I'd say. :) If you like dance, you'll definitely enjoy this movie. It's a lot of fun and the 3D aspect is very cool!

Red Spaces

I'm seeing red! Right after I finish typing this I am off to paint an accent wall red. So I decided to look at other spaces that use red in a some way or another...

ThaiTee by thaitee

Alleyways-Hey Ocean
(A good song for a slow morning)
Good morning! I woke up nice and early to bring my friend to work by 7:30 and I decided, it's so nice to be awake before everyone else and just sit quietly, half awake...This is kind of how the sun streams in at 7:45 and I am looking into the fabulous garden my parents created. (click for source)

Browsing through Etsy again. It didn't take long for me to find this pretty Mermaid Wrap Skirt from ThaiTee by thaitee. It looks great for summer days. I would even wear it to my dance class if I owned one...The store owner is based in Thailand and makes these clothes using local materials to support the community. Ethical and pretty!

Broadway on SYTYCD

I loved this routine! Do you watch SYTYCD? Season finale later today! The last three contestants are all so amazing, I don' even know who is my favourite!
In this video, Kent Boyd and Jose Ruiz (already voted off) are doing a Broadway number which reminds me a lot of the style that was seen in classic Gene Kelly movies. Don't you think?
Music: From This Moment On (Kiss Me Kate)
Choreographer: Spencer Liff

Love Save the Empty

Hello! Sorry I fell a little behind on posting. Since it's my last week on the job, I have been scrambling to get all the last minute work done. Right now though, I want to share a song with you. I love Erin McCarley's voice and the piano in this song...

Oh! And watching Much Ado About Nothing was so amazing! When I went to get tickets, I had no idea that being on the sponsor guest list would equal complete VIP treatment (wine bar, buffet, desserts, reserved seating, and a fabulous synopsis by the founder of Bard and the Beach himself!). It was easily one of the best prizes I've won!

Much Ado About Nothing

It is my last week at my internship. It went by a lot faster than I thought it would, although, there were days that felt extremely slow! Today I decided to sign my name for a draw, the winner receiving two tickets to Bard on the Beach. I never win anything and didn't have my hopes up, so you can imagine my surprise when I did win! Thanks to someone there, I am going to watch Much Ado About Nothing. I'm so excited!Much Ado About Nothing

The Duchess

Have you seen The Duchess? It's such a sad but visually stunning film. No wonder Michael O'Conner won the Oscar for best costume design. The music is lovely to listen to as well. If you are ever in the mood for a period drama, you should consider this one...The website has a great page dedicated to the costumes of the film. Rightly so. I think I want to read the book now! :P

The Lion King

I just watched The Lion King musical (click for video) tonight and it was incredible. The costumes, the music, the lighting, the movement... it was all so awe-inspiring. I highly recommend it. If it comes to a your town (or somewhere close) make the trip to see it. It's worth every penny! I'm going to stop describing it since words don't really do it justice.

Animal Prints

Hello ladies! I'm back after a fabulous long weekend. I was browsing our world wide web (while my little cousin Enrique from a previous post has been asking me about a billion and one questions) and I rediscovered the work of Sharon Montrose. She is a fabulous animal photographer and she takes the cutest pictures! You can check out her work at her website: The Animal Printshop. For now, here a few of my favourites...So cute!!!
