The Galway Girl in Whistler Village

Hello hello! I went skiing yesterday and my muscles are feeling it! It was worth it though. Whistler is a great mountain (soon to be an Olympic venue) to go to and whenever I go there with my family we always start at a ridiculously early hour, ski till the mountain closes, and then park ourselves at one of the local pubs. Last night we decided to go to the Duhb Linn Gate Old Irish Pub. It was so much fun! Plus there was live music. Being an Irish pub, of course the band played Irish songs. One song that stood out and that I actually knew was The Galway Girl. It's such a romantic little ditty! Watch P.S. I Love You and you'll see what I mean!

Ellerman in Cape Town

It's a little late but its Monday again. Well...the last few hours of Monday anyways. The latest destination to add to my list is Cape Town, South Africa. Thank goodness for the browsing powers of Google! During my perusing, I happened upon the Ellerman Villa and House. Located in Cape Town's Bantry Bay, this looks like a fantasy spot where any traveler can experience the wonders of South African views, cuisine, and hospitality. These photos make me want to hop on an airplane!

Candied Apples and Nutcrackers and Songs! Oh My!

With Christmas coming up so fast and cousins in town and last minute Christmas gift shopping to be done, its been extremely busy to say the least. In fact I think I'm to allot myself a mini bloggy vacation for the next two days. I'm sure I wont be missed what with all the fantastic Christmas festivities you must be partaking in!
But here are some fantastic things that would be great to do or eat during this holiday:

What better way to enjoy an evening this Christmas than by watching the Nutcracker Ballet?Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory anyone? I couldn't resist taking photographs of their mouthwatering Candied Apples while walking along the beautiful Robson Street!
Go Christmas caroling!!! Here's a good plan for a night of singing.
Merry Christmas everyone!

Taj Exotica

It's Monday again and I remembered another place I would love to see: Goa. India is one of those exotic Asian destinations I would love to see. Goa is just one of the places in India that has inspired my travel whim, and the Taj Exotica looks like a place I could easily settle into! A five-star luxury hotel (which I can only afford in my dreams), the Taj Exotica is located on the southwest coast of Goa overlooking the Arabian Sea. A place for relaxation, it is one of the best hotels in Goa. The pictures are so beautiful! Maybe when I win the lottery...

Angels in Costumes

Now that costume design is on my mind, I was thinking about the designs that appeared in one of the most entertaining fashion shows of the year: the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show. It's so much fun to watch because of all the elaborate props, costumes, and smiling, not-so-serious models. The music is almost always great as well. Here are some fantastic pieces and my favorites!Heidi's shoes anyone? I love them!I love her butterfly wings! They are so whimsical!

Homework

Well its been a very busy few days and although the semester is over, I still have coursework to finish and hand in through email. I took a theatre graphics course and now I am scrambling to get everything done. Here are some of my costume renderings. I decided to be a little braver and share them with you. I hope you like them!

Tassels and Earplugs

I started watching Breakfast at Tiffany's last night and I love the scene where Paul and wakes up Holly from her beauty sleep. I know its a film but even when she jsut wakes up she looks so glamorous! If only I could look like that when I first wake up! So my first little step towards that was looking for a few accessories. My first find: tassel earplugs. They are the cutest little sleep fashion accessories ever! I don't sleep with earplugs usually but how about when on an airplane and there's that one screaming kid right behind you? Check out these earplugs by JenJen

Paper Silhouettes

Etsy is easily becoming one of my favorite places to browse on rainy days. I have to say that this little discovery is just one of the few that have caught my eye. I'm a dancer and I would love to have one of these dancing works of art hanging in my room or on a chain around my neck! Created by San Franciscan based artist, Tina Tarnoff has worked with lots of different mediums, her latest being paper cut techniques. They are lovely and whimsical creations...This last one is my favorite and my kind of dance!

Surprise!!

I just got the biggest surprise of my life! OK maybe not my whole life but definitely the biggest to date! When I went to pick up my darling cousin who is more of a sister than just a cousin, I got a wonderful Christmas present. Instead of picking up one cousin, I picked up two!!! Another cousin/sister flew all the way across the Pacific ocean for 14 hours to spend Christmas with me!!! Now its shopping time and I will share any lovely discoveries I make while walking along South Granville!

White Owl and Lace

A white owl and lace? Not your usual combination of words in one sentence but there it is! As I was browsing Etsy the other day I discovered the shop White Owl by spivak and spivak. These two sisters share their love for vintage and handmade and create some very pretty and unique pieces. If you're looking for a unique gift or just looking to treat yourself to some new accessories you might like something like these...Aren't they pretty?!

Blue Angel Villa

Monday again and I've noticed a pattern. Monday has turned into a "wander-lust" posting day: Prague, Florence, a Parisian calendar...Today its Greece! Last year my parents treated themselves to a Mediterranean cruise and one of their destinations was Santorini. Their pictures are gorgeous and so fresh looking! My little discovery via the wonderful world wide web is the Blue Angel Villa. Perched on the cliff face of the caldera in Fira, it is a beautiful getaway retreat and architectural gem! It looks like a luxurious and private place to escape to and take a break from everyday life with lots of fantastic features and activities...(Enjoy a gourmet dinner prepared by yourself or a private chef?! Not bad!)
