Ahhh. I am cheerfully writing my first paper of my last semester. I'm pretty sure I won't miss the last minute paper writing when I leave my undergrad behind. So why am I so cheerful? Hey Ocean has some of the best "lift your spirits" songs and I'm practically dancing while writing about the 19th century play, Uncle Tom's Cabin.I'm loving their latest song, Big Blue Wave (click for a free download at the band's Facebook page). Trust me, it's completely worth it!

Okay, who doesn't love these fabulous French treats? Macarons are not only tasty, but they must be the daintiest, prettiest petite pastries ever! My aunt from Paris just arrived, bringing me a lovely cloth book bag, and now I'm on a Paris kick. If you are in the Toronto area, there will be a great "How to Make Macarons" class hosted by the lovely lady behind eat.live.travel.write. this coming September. She has a great post on her adventures of making these finicky pastries, complete with fabulous pictures. Snow and Sweaters

Hello hello! It snowed over the weekend! The La Niña really has arrived. Everything is white and frozen. I just checked the temperature and it's -3 celsius. Freezing! I can feel more snow on the way. I looked out my window early Saturday morning and this is what I saw: WHITE!You can see the snow falling under the light of the lamp post. The leaves on the tree in our front yard haven't all fallen because they are frozen! This kind of weather calls for super cozy sweaters from Victoria's Secret, I think. Much Ado About Nothing

It is my last week at my internship. It went by a lot faster than I thought it would, although, there were days that felt extremely slow! Today I decided to sign my name for a draw, the winner receiving two tickets to Bard on the Beach. I never win anything and didn't have my hopes up, so you can imagine my surprise when I did win! Thanks to someone there, I am going to watch Much Ado About Nothing. I'm so excited!Much Ado About Nothing

Tim Burton at the MOMA and a giveaway!

Yes. I'm still stuck in the Alice in Wonderland/Tim Burton mode (although, I just watched Dear John; I cried). But this is what happens when I absolutely love a movie. I can't help myself and I start to youtube it, listen to the score, look at sneak peeks, interviews, and, in this case, checking out the website of the New York MOMA exhibition of Tim Burton's work. This happens every so often... :P
Anyways, if you are a Tim Burton fan, you'll enjoy this. I wish I could go to New York before the exhibit closes!!! Its great! There are sketches, short films, behind the scenes, paintings, photographs...
