Kirsty Mitchell's Wonderland

I just discovered photographer, Kirsty Mitchell, and her images are incredible! They are so creative and colourful. These are from her whimsical Wonderland set. I love the way nature figures into the portraits...

Fashion Illustration

I love illustration and design (and art and way too many things!)...
Here's a fun way to create fashion illustrations (via Run Run Run Away)

On a different note, I discovered a fun way to really personalize a space. How about lyrics from a favourite song decorating the wall? (via weheartit)

Clear and White

Big project to work on today! I'll be sitting at my desk which is quite similar to this one:Except I don't have the flowers... or the chalk board... or that super cute desk lamp... The bows on the wall are such a unique idea. Not to toot my own style horn but I think clear chairs and white desks lighten up a space in a fun and sometimes funky way...Now back to work, looking to images from Arthur Devis and studying the costumes of the 18th century... He renders the fabric incredibly realistic... perfect for a costume study!(Images via House Beautiful, Decor Pad, and Tate Collection)

Gucci Kids

I couldn't help but share these photos of the new Gucci Kids ad campaign. Jennifer Lopez and her twins, Max and Emme, are adorable in these pictures. I love that she took these photos for charity. I also love the lighting and colours of these pictures as well, don't you? What adorable twins!

Milly's House

I was greeted with a surprise this morning: slush and snow! I ended up having soaking wet feet and would like nothing more now than to warm up with hot chocolate and do some catch up work. The other day the film Because I Said So was on TV and I remembered how adorable Milly's (Mandy Moore) house was in the movie: eclectic and cozy...
A chalk board fridge...Somehow, this open pantry works really well!
The colours are actually more vibrant now that I think about it. That couch is definitely red...

The Beatboxing Flute

Okay, so a flute can't beat-box... But the flutist can! I realize this is a very random post but this is really very cool. Greg Patillo is one very talented musician! He has been lauded by the New York Times as "the best person in the world at what he does." Check it out!

He also performs around the world as the flutist with Project Trio and they've put a new spin on Nutcracker. Do you want to see even more mad skill? How about a one-man flute, piano and beat-boxing number?

Wedding Sketches

So, it's all over the news that there is a royal wedding in the near future. I stumbled upon an article that had a lot of sketches of suggested gowns for Kate Middleton. Can you imagine having so many of the world's most renowned designers drawing wedding gowns specifically for you? These are a few I liked but there are more designs in that article including the thoughts behind each the design...

Missoni Colour

Hello lovelies! Hope you all have a pleasant weekend. I'm going to be busy dancing and doing my readings... not very exciting :P
I just found this photo in my computer and couldn't help but notice the way Missoni can turn a colourful, wavy pattern like this...
...into a fabulous sunny dress like this.
I like. How about you?

Tangled

Have you seen Tangled? It is such an adorable and whimsical tale. I enjoyed just looking at it and all the art work that went into creating it. The artists originally aimed for creating a moving oil painting and took inspiration from the 18th century Rococo image of The Swing by Fragonard. Just my type of film: inspired by one of my favourite time periods in art history...

The Sartorialist. Visual Life

I'm sure you all know about the Sartorialist but on the off chance that you don't, I found this video that explains all. It's so fascinating to see someone else's creative process. I want to go out into the street and start taking photographs...

These are some of my current favourites...

Mexican Butterflies

How incredible would it be to see the Monarch Butterfly Migration in Mexico?Rancho San Cayetano looks like a lovely and peaceful place to stay in Zitacuaro Michoacan, which is conveniently close to the Monarch Butterfly sanctuaries of Mexico.
The room looks perfectly quaint doesn't it? But I think I like the poolside quite a lot...A trip to Mexico would be a nice change from our frigid weather, no?
Sorry about the words in the pictures. :P
