Silver Trays

Candace Olson is one of my favourite designers (as I'm sure she is for many). In one of her room makeovers, she created unique and awesome coffee tables using trays and table stands! These trays (from West Elm) are hammered metal serving pieces that add sparkle to this living room. Plus it's functional too :)

Triana

I really want to go back to Spain again. Especially right now since they are probably all celebrating another Fifa win! Good game Portugal :)
My cousins may be in Madrid but I think I'd like to visit Sevilla; especially, the barrio of Triana. Triana is Sevilla's traditional gypsy quarter, famous for its fiery gypsy passion, sensual flamenco, great bullfighters and hand painted ceramics. It forms an integral part of the city and its culture, considered by some to be the heart and soul of Sevilla...
Triana! Triana! Que bonita esta Triana!

Mystery Photo

I found this picture in my computer and I think it's so lovely. It's a mystery photo because I forgot where I got it from and when I saved it! The sculptures, the mask, which, in itself, adds a degree of mystery, the black ruffles of her dress... It looks like the editorial it comes from (I'm assuming it did) had talented art direction.
Here are some other photos I found that aren't as mysterious (click for source)...

Karen Flamenco Presents Romeo & Juliet

Show time! Karen Flamenco presents Romeo and Juliet. I'm not nervous yet but I will be when I'm waiting in the wings to go on. The scariest thing to me right now? Getting to the right starting position in the dark! Three shows, two days. It'll keep me busy all weekend, but I'm excited to be a part of it all. Wish me luck! :P
I'll try and get pictures to share. But for now, here's a little sneak preview...

Style Inspiration

How fabulous is this room? I love the colours and the freshness of the white walls and painted white floors. Danielle de Lange over at The Style Files is using this as her inspiration to create the perfect nursery for the coming addition to her family. If the nursery looks anything like this, this baby is going to have a stylish start to life! Two side notes:
Viva España! and...
We are doing a late spring cleaning and things (shoes, jackets) keeping appearing. They don't belong to anyone that lives in my house! Mystery...

Green Cuffs and Rings

Two more days till show time! Lots of last minute rehearsing now.
So, with this oily disaster down south in the Gulf of Mexico in mind, I found some really pretty pieces of jewelry at the Econscious Market that can help the wildlife while making you sparkle! Right now, 100% of the proceeds of these four Alkemie pieces will be donated to the International Bird Rescue Research Centre.

Gelato

It was really warm today. Summer is slowly making its way here to stay for a few months. The temperature gauge in the car said it was 28 degrees! But who knows how accurate that was. I was driving in the sun for a while as well... In any case, it was a day for Mondo Gelato! I walked on the fabulous Robson Street and had some gelato in a waffle cone. Yummm...

Istanbul

I've been working on a movie/slide-show of the trip my parents took last year with their friends. Istanbul was their first stop and their photos are so rich! It has that alluring eastern European quality. One of the largest metropolitan areas in the world, Istanbul is a mega-city that extends on both the European and Asian sides of the Bosphorus Straight, making it the only city that is located on two continents!

Baby Chic

This commercial is the cutest thing ever! And probably the most fashionable one of its kind too. I have no reason to buy diapers but if I did, I would have to buy these at least once! This baby is so well dressed!

Rain-Drum

I was browsing over at Pottery Barn again, when I found this beautiful Frog Rain-Drum Accent Table. I love that it has an exotic quality and detail. I wish I had a reason to buy it and a place to put it! This is a cast aluminum version done in an antique bronze finish with concentric rings of geometrical relief patterns, botanical embellishments and a top detailing of three frogs. Looking at these pictures, I would have trouble deciding whether I wanted it inside or outside...

Prince of Persia

The life of a movie critic must be quite serious. I was thinking about this the other day while reading the reviews for Prince of Persia. Let's just take a step back for a minute: it's a fantasy/adventure film based on a video game. Fantasy and video game being the key words here, it is what it is. Easily the most memorable aspects: the visuals and stunts. It was full of colour and exoticism, having the charm of the unfamiliar. If you go and watch it, don't think so hard and question every little thing. Just go for the ride and enjoy it! Jake isn't too bad to look at for a few hours either :P
I love the scenery and Penny Rose's costumes...

So You Think You Can Dance

It's here again! SYTYCD is on tonight and I can't wait to see the costumes and choreography. Normally, I'm no fan of reality shows and all that but I make an exception for this show. It's fantastic to watch these dancers get up on stage every week and perform choreography that they pretty much just learned. Completely inspiring! I have to share a few of my favourite dances with you. This first one is my favourite of them all. Wade Robson is an incredible choreographer!!

Dance Clothes

It's time to shop for new dance clothes! All of my black pants are coming apart at the seams and it's starting to really warm up in the studio. I'm going to be taking a trip to the outlets across the border. Oh! I'm also getting my costumes this week! I've already gotten a gorgeous tailor made green skirt for one dance and I will be getting a black dress as well. I'll have to take pictures once these costumes are complete! Here are some dance outfits and photos I really like...
Flamenco dancer Sara Baras...
This is more the type of things I'll be shopping for: practice clothes...
This last dress is a flamenco-style dress from H&M. I'd wear it!
